Layne passed through glass french doors, a blissful smile plastered on her face. Today was her day to relax. To get lost, only to find her way home by nightfall. To be pampered, to be primped. And god, she couldn't be happier. Making her appearance little known, Layne simply tipped up her favorite sunglasses and peered through bright blue eyes at the cashier. After a warm welcome, Layne set her things down and watched an employee get the pedi water ready. Her faded blue capris illongated Layne's lengthy legs. A silk georgette blouse in coral adorned her midsection, and white pumps clicked as she came to a hault, shifting her weight to one hip. Yes, today was sure to be fun, even if she would be spending it alone.

Pulling open the French glass doors with an unmanicured hand, Elizabeth slid the pink tinted sunglasses away from her eye’s, just to peer at the Lady working the Counter.
“Martie’s in back…next to…her” The women at the counter pointed to Her normal seat and to a girl she didn’t know. Whatever. There was an always time for new friends. Elizabeth took her seat and slipped off her white satrapy stelltio heeled sandals. She pushed up the selves of her pink lightweight summer sweater, and prepared herself for her mani-pedi set. French tips, and square ends, with square cuticles too. Today was going to be perfect! |

Layne watched as the raidant young girl stepped into the shop. 'Just about my age!' she noted mentally, waiting until the oppotune moment to speak to her. When the two were both seated, Layne leaned in, turning to face the girl. "Great minds think alike," she stated cheerfully, opening up one of the many magazines stacked on the glass shelves. What she had meant by her statement was referring to how they were both here. Oh well, so what if she looked like a fool. It wouldn't be the first time.

That made Elizabeth giggle.
“Chea! I’m here every week, at the same time. Martie is a goddess at square cuticles, you’ll never see any straighter!” Elizabeth pointed her head towards the girl working on her feet.
Elizabeth let one of her hands move from where she had rested them, to her lap so she could straighten out the dark mini skirt she wore.

Layne smiled, nodding with what the girl was saying. She seemed bubbly, just like herself. Maybe they /could/ get along. "Well, I definately believe you. So, you got a name?" She wasn't typically worried about being polite, but this girl seemed like she could handle it. "Cute skirt!" she exclaimed suddenly, leaning forward in her chair. This caused the woman massaging her toes to slap the tops of her feet lightly, alarming her. "Sorry!" she said softly, wide-eyed. Gosh, she looked like she'd never been any place nice in her entire life. 'Just cool off.'

“Lizzie! Liz-a-beth Victoria Martin! Thank you!”
Elizabeth exclaimed, pronouncing her name like a two-year-old would. Weird much? Chea, basically.
Elizabeth looked down at the skirt…It the one she had worn to for her senior pictures, and the one on her MySpace ((Which is a lamee sitee)). It was cute, and expensive. It was from over in NY’s, her cousin’s actually. Her pretty, successful, man-hogging cousin. No hard feeling, rightt? |

Layne chuckled softly, realizing that she wasn't exactly in a position to match her behavior. "Well," she began, settling back into her chair. "I'm Layne Hudson. It's very nice to meet you, Elizabeth." She would have extended her hand, but just as she swung her arm around, the woman grabbed her by the fingers and began filing her nails. She simply sat primply, occasionally glancing over to Elizabeth. "In case you were wondering, I just moved here. Hence the fact that I know absolutely no one." A playful smirk played across her face, and Layne remembered when she first moved here. She was like a deer caught in headlights. Wow, could she /ever/ fit in here?

Elizabeth smiled at the girl she had just met. She hated it when she first moved here. It was like one season, always, everyone seemed so tan and fake, and EVERYONE knew everything about Rachel. It wasn’t that she disliked Rachel, they were actually friends, or something close to it, now. It’s not as bad.
“So. Have you seen anything you liked yet? Boy-wise?” Elizabeth asked, as one of the girls took her hand to soak off her French gel set.
Boy-wise, Elizabeth had one thing on her mind. And that was her boy. She hadn’t been able to sat down with him, and just talk, catch a movie, and do couple-y stuff. Which was a pity, because, frankly, Elizabeth liked Cole. And didn’t like not having the chance to hang out. |

Layne giggled. She was glad that she could finally talk to someone and spill her guts. That's how it always was back at home. "Well," she began, biting the inside of her cheek. She always acted this way when nervous, but some people found it cute. "I don't know. I mean, there's so many gorgeous guys, but they've all got girls on their arms. Perhaps little ole Lanie will be a lone wolf for now." She smirked, but on the inside she was ready to cry. Her words were too true, but she couldn't expose E.V to that. After all, she obviously had a guy. I mean, someone that gorgeous /had/ to have a guy. "And I'm supposing you've got yourself a boy-toy right?" She teased, smiling a white toothed grin. Layne loved smiling; it was her favorite. She liked it almost as much as making new friends.

“Only the best…His name is Colby…Everybodyy calls him Cole. He’s the sweetest. Don’t worry. In the OC it’s like…guys are dropped in everyday. I’ve lived here for four years and I still don’t know all of them. I amaze myself.”
Elizabeth grinned at Layne, this was definitely going to be one of her closer friends. The women soaking her nails, switched sides not looking up.

"Awwwh," Layne gushed, focusing all of her attention on E.V. "See, you're so lucky. I've seen Cole. My my, your taste is excuisite." She couldn't help but burst out laughing. After all, it was so true! Layne hoped that her previous comment wouldn't make E.V think that she liked Cole, for she didn't even know him. She simply was told about him, and had a pretty fair idea of him. Layne scoffed as the incredibly rude woman kneeling before her ripped her hand out of it's track. "Excuse me!" she beamed, rolling her eyes slightly at the lady before looking back to E.V. "So tell me a little about yourself, doll."

Elizabeth made a sly grin.
“I’m Elizabeth Martin, Eldest daughter of Alexander Martin. Before you ask, yes, THE Alexander Martin, Husband of Anya Martin-Tritoni. But we knock of the Tritoni. Known by all, hated by many. Chea, I’m that Radd. Um, I a kick ass Web designer, and an even better programmer. I rock all types of clothes, and on Sundays from 2:00 to 2:45 I’m all emo-like. And! I’m the coolest thing since bubble wrap.”
Elizabeth smiled, trying to hide the fact that she was about to brake out into a fit of giggles. |

Layne resisted the urge to giggle, and matched it with a smirk. "Wow, I haven't a clue how I could ever compete with that." She left it at that, seeing no reason to explain herself when she hadn't been asked. "What color?" the woman working on her nails asked, shoving numerous bottles of nailpolish in her face. "Um, that one," Layne stated, conveying annoyance towards the pudgy woman whom was treating her like a dog. No, actually, her dog was treated much more approiately than this. "You know what I'm craving?" she asked, turning towards E.V after specifying to the woman that she wanted a french manicure with white tips; rounded. "Chocolate!" Layne pined for chocolate always, but you'd never know by her figure. Thank god for the gym.

The board walk was great…but then another place popped into her head…Trieste…But why? Oh Yeah. Cole.

"Trieste? What's a trieste?" Layne remarked, cocking her head to the side. It sounded french, a language that Layne had never taken the time to study. "Um, I'd love to go, though!" The boardwalk was always a fun place. It was where she had met every single one of her friends here so far. Layne tucked a few strands of her bangs behind her ear, only for them to fall back in her eyes. Oh gosh, why'd her bangs have to be so short. Shifting her body to the side, she began to sit up. The worker person had nearly finished her nails, and Layne couldn't bear much more. "Shall we then?" asked Layne, gesturing for the woman to leave them. She got up, but was handed a bill . Layne simply glanced at it and signed the bottom, saying "Put it on my father's account," and, handed the fancily signed check back to the woman. She then looked back to E.V and smiled. "To the boardwalk!"
