Interrupted from his private thoughts by a seemingly angry growl, Colby opened his eyes and looked towards the source. His eyes widened upon seeing Elizabeth, looking like some the cat dragged in -- however, it was a /very/ sexy thing the cat dragged in. Her looking like that caused him to get turned on quite frankly, and he bit his lower lip, examining her from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. Damn was that woman fucking hot.
"Excuse me," he told Ryder and Spencer, standing up and walking over to where Elizabeth and some chick was. Stopping next to his woman, he placed his hands on her shoulders. "Babe, what's wrong?" he asked, palms cupping her adorable, pouty face. He was doing a good job, being that he wanted to kiss her senseless.
Watching Colby disappear over to that angry girl, Ryder shrugged and looked back down at Spencer. He chuckled, "You aint babbling. You're making perfect sense quite frankly, and as I said before, I love hearing you talk. So you could never really babble in my eyes." After his explanation, he leaned over and kiss her cheek, saying something for just her ears. "You look very nice tonight. Not that you don't all the time," he whispered near her ear, his hot breath ticklish against her skin before he pulled back.
Watching her whole demeanor change, he raised his brows. "Don't worry. He was actually nice to me. Said that I was the infamous Ryder or something like that, then shook my hand or whatever. He was cool," he shrugged, trying to assure his girlfriend that her brother hadn't been an ass to him. He didn't tell her of how he first saw, well heard, Jimmy, but she didn't need to know that. "When am I meeting your family again? In how many days?" he questioned, wondering if he had the day right.

Spencer too watched as Colby excused himself from the table and walked over to a girl. She stared blankly at the two for a moment before looked back at Ryder before he had kissed her cheek. She listened to the words that were spoken softly to her and then smiled. As he backed away, Spencer looked to him and shrugged slightly. “I was only headed towards the pier.” She told him, but the look in her eyes told him the ‘thank you’ he most likely wanted to hear. Spencer crossed her legs at the knee and set her hands atop her kneecap as she kept her eyes on Ryder but glanced towards Colby and the other girl out of the corner of her eye. She had made quite a scene there, but Spencer knew it was none of her business and decided not to put herself in it.
Closing her eyes lightly, Spencer let out a sigh of relief. “Okay, well I just wish I could’ve been the one to introduce the two of you, but all is done now.” She stated, smiling in conclusion. “This Saturday. That is in two days.” She informed him, adding the ‘two days’ part just so he knew, not to make him seem stupid. “My dad is cooking...meatloaf. My mom is coming home early to pick-up the house and she told Jimmy and Brain to be sure to be there. So yeah, you are going to be meeting the /whole/ family this time.” She said unenthusiastically. To tell you the truth, Spencer wasn’t all that thrilled to have Ryder meet the family. Sure, she didn’t mind her parents, but the fact that /both/ of her brothers would be there made her feel uneasy and Spencer was almost sure that she had the look in her eyes that said it all.

“Hi Baby!” Elizabeth said, pout-y faced and very sweet smelling. This morning she had used Ralph Lauren’s ‘Hot’ and to her satisfaction she smelled very sweet. Then out of the Conner of her eyes, she got a glimpse of Adrienne, and was instantly pissed off again. “Ops!” Elizabeth put a hand to her mouth a mock surprise, “I forgot to introduce you. Cole, this is the Bitch. Bitch, this is Cole.”
“Ha, You get me.” Adrienne said rolling her eyes, and then smirking at Cole. “Are you to together? That’s too bad…no man should ever have to date a whore-bag.” Adrienne flipped her black hair out of her face again and pulled a pair of sunglasses that were perched at the top of her head to her eyes, sat on her stool and took a sip of her vodka tonic. It was a known historical fact that /all/ Martin’s can hold their liquor.
“Wow. That’s so classy of you. Isn’t that the kettle calling the pot black,” Elizabeth huffed and crossed her arms.

Raising his brow slightly when the two started calling each other names, Cole shook his head. Okay then. So they didn't like each other so much right now it seemed. However, the question was, 'What was Adrienne doing in Orance County Already?' As far as he knew, Elizabeth said she'd be coming the next day. Maybe the girl got an earlier flight in. Either way, Cole didn't exactly care.
"For your information, I'm not dating a whore-bag," he said simply, though didn't continue his thought. If he did, he'd have told her who looked like the whore to him. Draping an arm around E.V's waist, he kissed her lightly on the temple. "Anyway, what's all the commotion about?" he asked again, being as she didn't answer his question the first time he'd said it.
Smiling at Spencer, Ryder nodded. "Alright beautiful. I'll remember that," he said, storing it to memory. He knew she'd said the weekend, but which day exactly he hadn't been too certain. "And don't worry. They won't scare me away," he chuckled, seeing the look on her face and hearing the tone of her voice. She shouldn't be so worried, seriously. He wasn't going nowhere. At least he didn't think so...There was nothing against getting into an instution closer to Orange County when the summer was over. Or maybe he'd take a year off. He wasn't too sure as to what he would do just yet.
"So, tell me about Brian," he said, being as he only knew a slight bit about Jimmy. "And your dad too. Might as well get some heads-ups about what they may dislike or whatever. Or at least know something about the two. I know your dad works and your mom's a nurse, but that's about it." He looked towards her with his full attention, waiting for a reply.
Hanging up her phone, Amber smiled. It seemed Clyde would be coming in for Cotillion, but she couldn't say anything about it. Damnit. Turning back to the table, she looked to Ryder and see he was talking to Spencer. She then looked towards Cole and saw him with some chick she assumed was his girlfriend. Okay, she wasn't about to play the third wheel.
Pursing her lips, she walked to the bar and took a seat on a stool, setting her elbows on the bartop and her chin in between her palms. "Hey, can I get a screwdriver please?" she told the bartender. Big mistake. Amber drinking that was. The girl couldn't hold her liqour. /At all/. But, whatever.

“I know, I shouldn’t be too worried, but I am. It scares me, the thought of what will be discussed at dinner. My dad will probably bring up something like, ‘You better not have slept with my daughter unprotected.’ Or something along those lines, and as for my brothers, they will simply agree with whatever it is my dad has to say.” She explained, biting her lower lip. Taking a deep yet silent breath, Spencer looked to her drink and remembered that it had been empty. She looked away and settled her view on a carpeted square design on the floor.
Taking a deep yet silent breath, Spencer thought a moment before telling Ryder a little about Brain and more about her father. “Well, like I’ve told you before, Brain is adopted. He is from South Africa but had lived with us for about four years now. Both of his parents died and we decided to adopt him. Both of them were my mother’s patients when they both had come down with some disease.” She began, starting off with a little about Brain. “Yeah, he is black, but really we don’t seem to notice. And trust me, he is probably the whitest black person you will meet. We tease him about it too, but my mom thinks that raising him, as one of us, was a good thing. She wasn’t exactly fond of having a ‘thug’, if you will, living within our household.” She continued, looking back towards Ryder before going on about her dad. “As for my dad. Well let’s see. He grew up here, in the O.C. and had gone to college back in Florida, but then was offered a job back here so we transferred. The typical businessman. Trips come frequently, but it’s great to see him when we can.” Spencer concluded, figuring that was all she needed to say about her family. As for his parents, Spencer didn’t know a lot about them, but decided to hold that question till later.

Adrienne rolled her eyes and mumbled a ‘That’s what you think’ and turned back to the bar. Adrienne didn’t need this. She had no reason not to drink like she was dying and then party afterward. Pushing her hair back again, Adrienne was suddenly annoyed. Why was she not with a guy this very moment? This whole ‘meeting-new-people-bull-crap; was about as cool a white skirt after Labor Day. Just No.
Elizabeth smiled, with her win. Ha. 1-0 Elizabeth. Finally things were going to work around her, “Is /Darren/ in yet?” Elizabeth asked smirking at Adrienne, knowing that would piss her off. Elizabeth leaned against Cole, wrapping her arms around him, which also would piss the shit out of Adrienne. Life was being good to her today.
Adrienne spun around narrowing her eyes at Elizabeth. That Bitch. With a matter of fact tone to her voice she said, “I don’t know, and I don’t give a flying fuck.” Then turned around to order another drink.

Gently ruffling Elizabeth's hair, Cole leaned down and whispered to her, "You look incredibly hot, believe it or not." His fingers were trailing up and down her back, as he ignored the bantering going on between the two halfsisters. In fact, he wasn't paying Adrienne any mind, his full attention being upon E.V. "And you smell great," he murmured, kissing the area right beneath her ear.
Laughing heartily, Ryder drained the rest of his drink and then leaned forward on the table, his knees lightly touching each other now and then as he shook his feet. He smirked, head on his forearms now as his grey eyes held just a bit of amusement. Although she was so worried, he couldn't find but find it somewhat funny. Hell, he could handle himself. Being considered the badboy back where he lived, one best believe he'd gotten those talks before. "I'm sure I'll live."
Listening to her continue talking, he nodded. He wasn't put off by the fact that Brian was African American. It had nothing to do with skin tone, but of course the inner person. "Alright. I got ya," he said once she was finished. "I believe I'll have fun at dinner. So what were you going to do at the pier? And can I come?" he questioned, giving her a 'please?' look.
Accepting her drink from the bartender, Amber sniffed it, noting that the alcohol content was considerably high. Oh well. Taking a sip from it, she lightly licked her lips, thinking it tasted good. She'd never had a screwdriver before. In fact, she'd only tasted Coors Light, and that had had a grand enough effect on her. Imagine something with Vodka in it, as she was drinking now.

As Spencer eased up a bit on the worrying, she caught Ryder’s smirk and hit him lightly on his shoulder. “It isn’t funny that I am freaking out about this.” She said to him with a light laugh of her own, though trying to stay serious all the same. “I’m sure you will live too, but maybe just barely.” She joked with a smile, leaning back in her chair and letting out another deep breath she had made. She didn’t get why some guys acted as if none of this was a problem. She had remembered Brian’s first ‘meet the parent’s date’ and he was freaking out about it, but maybe that was because Brain was over sensitive.
“Well let’s hope you have fun for the most part. If you have fun, I’ll be happy.” Spencer stated and then shrugged. “I don’t know. The usual, just chill out, think, I don’t know.” She began and then noticed his pleading look. “Of course you can come, babe.” She continued, sitting up straight again and leaning over to kiss his cheek gently. Pulling back, she looked at him with a smile, a handing moving towards her face to brush the fallen bangs from her eyes.
