Surprised when he made the turn to the Cafe, Amber turned her gaze to him, a smile flitting about her lips. "You're...sweet," she told him, just before eying his package of cigarettes. Waving a hand airily, she shook her head. "Go right ahead," she said, not having the urge to ask him for one. She only really smoked when she painted, as it gave her proper concentration. It was weird, but she didn't do so when she sketched. Other than that, she smoked when she was having problems too. Terrible habit, but one she couldn't break. "I don't mind."
Grinning, she smirked. "Knew you'd be one. Didn't I tell you they'd take you?" she asked, raising her brows.

He laughed and blushed a bit, "thanks" he said as he rolled down the window and lit one. "I only do it when im stressed." he said as they arrived at the cafe, "what do you want? Ill just run in and grab it." he smiled. "what do you mean?" he questioned her comment.

Leaning against her seat, Amber took to gazing out the window as they approached the Cafe. "You're stressed?" she asked, glancing back at him. She wouldn't have known if he didn't mention it. "How so?" she inquired wondering, brows furrowed. "And I just meant that when you drove me home the other day, I told you you could be a lifeguard. The whole hot guy with a skill thing," she stated, grinning.
Once at the Cafe, she shook her head. "I'll get it. You already went out of the way to bring us here." Climbing from the truck, she trotted into the Cafe, and up to the counter. Getting herself a cup of French Roast, she paid, glad there wasn't really a line at this hour. She came back outside, climbing into the truck and buckling in. "Now we can go to the beach," she said with a smile, sipping from her coffee and closing her eyes in enjoyment of the mixture. "Great stuff I tell you."

He smiled with the cigerette in his teeth, he took it out and held it in his left hand as he pulled up. "About being new, already making someone want to fight me. The whole Cotillition thing.... just all that." he laughed "ohhh ok sorry, forgot." he smiled showing his dimpples.
He smiled as she went in he got out of the truck to hole the door open for her when she came back. He got back in and took off to the beach and just smiled in agreement. By the time he finished well was done with his cigerette they arrived at the beach. Danny put it in the ash tray, and helped Amber out of the car. He went to the back and grabbed the surf board, then let Harley run around in the sand.
"you ready" he asked playfully with a grin.

"Hmm, already?" Amber asked with raised brows, wondering just why someone wanted to fight with him. Of course she was clueless -- the gossip circle wasn't something she was involved in. "Cotillion. I'm not even sure if I'm going to attend that," she mused. "White dresses don't fit my artistic side at all." There was another reason she mayn't be going, but she wasn't about to mention that either.
Once they arrived at the beach, Amber had finished with most of her coffee. She climbed out with his assistance, smiling at him. "Thanks," she said simply, dumping her mostly empty coffee cup in the nearest trash can. "Um, as ready as I can be I suppose," she answered, eyeing the surfboard. "Just make sure you don't make me get carried away by the waves, or I'll haunt you for the rest of your life," she playfully warned, running her hand through her hair before removing her shirt.
"Let's do this then, before I lose all courage and run away," she said with a slightly weak smile, turning to look at the incoming waves.

Danny smiled at her artistic comment, he really did love how unique Amber was. He nodded at her when she said thanks, and gave a little laugh for how nervous she sounded. "Dont woory, thats the last thing I want to happen." he grinned trying to figure out how exactly he was going to teach her how to surf, purhaps he should have thought about that earlier....
"Okay." he smiled, as he started to head for the waves with his hand on her upper back just so she wouldnt run off. To comfort her he said "the waves are just perfect, there not to big and not to small." he smiled, wich it was the truth.

Nodding, Amber placed her hands in front of her thighs and interlaced her fingers together. "Great. I'm not too big or not too small either," she mused before grinning sheepishly. Stopping short of the water, she turned to look at Danny, lightly chewing on her lower lip in thought mixed with a bit of nerves. "Um. So we start learning outside of the water right?" she finally asked, stretching upward. "I saw a movie like that..." she trailed off, trying to remember.
"They taught the girl how to paddle out and get up on the board from off the sands I think," she said, looking skyward as if she could see the movie scenes upon the clouds. "Anyway. What's your method? Or how did you learn? Have you taught anyone before?" she fired off questions at him, and they all came out in almost a jumbled rush.

Danny stopped short, "oh.. alright." he smiled. He set the board down on the ground and helped her lay down on it, for to teach her how to paddle... "have your hands cupped, fingers close together so you can push the water out of the way better. Then keeping your arm stiff move the water at the speed you want, lift your hand out, bring it back infront and continue to do so." he told her as he guided her with her hands.
He was new to this whole teaching thing, so he tried as best as he could. "uhmmm, well this is fine, but i learned by just grabbing the board and going out there, pretty much by myself." he paused "but, its better to learn this way, less painful." he joked. "uhmm, I have taught my little sister, but that was a while ago..."

Listening to his instructions, Amber followed them but then turned to him after a moment. "I feel silly," she laughed, shaking her head slightly. "Let's try this water thing. Um, if I can't handle a little pain..." she shrugged and stood up, discarding of her bottoms and adjusting her suit. "I'm ready, I'm ready," she sang, almost like Spongebob, equipped with a little jig.
"Don't worry. I'm sure I'll suck it up once I'm in the water and do fine. Plus, you're a lifeguard, so I don't have nothing to worry about," she assured.

Danny laughed, "alright," he said helping her off the board, "stay close" he told her then whistled for Harley to be by the shore. He went into the water where it was shallow and it only went up to slightly under his arms. He had the nose of the board facing the opposite way of the shore then told Amber "ok hop on" he said with a smile.

"Mmm alright," Amber said, following him into the water. The bitch was cold but she wasn't going to complain, scream or shiver like a sissy. Instead, she made her way over to the board, climbing on like Danny instructed. "Haha. If this was all there was to it, I'd be a natural," she grinned, shaking her head and looking out at the waves before down at Danny again. "What now?" she inquired, rubbing some dirt off her forearm. This should be 'fun'.

Danny smiled and said "lay on your stomache, than paddle like I wold you at the beach." he paused "ill keep the board in place so you dont go anywhere, next time ill bring another so i can surf next to you." he smiled.

Laying on her stomach, Amber did the whole cupped hand routine, glad that he was right there. She probably would have gave up before she even tried, but that was a basic human fear of the unknown. "I could get a workout doing this," she smirked, shaking her head. "You do this surfing thing to stay in shape huhn?" she questioned curiously, though not breaking her rhythm, or looking at him quite frankly.
"If there is a next time," she muttered. "This might be it. Not in the 'I think I'm going to drown' way, but in the 'Your damn nuts if you think I'm going to get on a board again' sort of way." Wiggling her fingers briefly, she placed them back close together and continued paddling. "How long did it take you to learn?"

Danny smiled and was glad she was willing to learn, "yup, it works." he grinned ten pushed his hair out of his face. "oh, no your coming back out here again. Even if I have to pick you up again." he laughed... "uhmm a few weeks but thats all." he grinned "it wont take to long."
He smiled and let her paddle a little bit more then instructed "okay, now pretend well... just... at the next wave coming towards you i want you to sit up and turn the board around as fast as you can." he told her then paused "dont worry, ill be right here and thats all your going to do just turn it around, you wont be taken by the wave." he paused once more. "Just do that a few times." he smiled.

Glaring playfully at her new compadre, Amberlynn stuck her tongue out at him. "Fine you big bully," she pouted, cupping the water and sending a splash of it his way. "See what happens to meanies?" she asked with a grin. "And weeks? Dayum. Five o' clock every morning for the next few weeks? Dude, I'm going to die," she groaned, setting her head down on the board briefly and closing her eyes to emphasize that exact point. "Anyway, I'm game. Gotta try something new once in a while I guess," she popped back up, paddling some more. "I gotta pay you for this. Taking valuable sleep time to teach me this," she added.
Listening to his new instructions, she nodded. "Alrighty," she said, keeping an eye out. She didn't turn at the first one though, almost frozen by fright. However, she tried on the second one, didn't quite make it though. "Damnit. Waaay harder than it looks. Gotta give those surfers I see on television their props. I see them doing it so effortlessly that I automatically assumed it was real easy," she shrugged, trying over and over and over again before cleanly turning around. Grinning with that look of achievement, she looked down at Danny. "Lesson over and time for breakfast?" she asked with a small laugh. "Naw," she said, doing it again just to make sure she had it down pat.
