"Okay. Um...cool," said Tyler, trying not to show the fact that he was very surprised--and happy with--her answer. He glanced over at her, the clip in her hair, and then back down at the ground. And then silence. He should say something. He really should. But what? What could he say?

Okay, what to say now. Her gaze shifted ahead of them to see exactly where they were. Not that far from the beach now. What to say, what to say? She could ask him about a number of things to get to know him better. Like favorite movie, band, song, color. Stuff like that that didn't matter, but really did at the same time.

"So..." said Tyler, hoping that something would suddenly come to mind. And, for probably the first time in his life, it actually worked! Yea! Can you say lucky? "What's your favorite color?" Maybe it wasn't introspective, or whatever, but it was still another conversation starter, right? And it required her to speak as well. It wasn't the best thing to talk about, but IT WAS A START, and that was pretty much all that mattered to him. Starts were important too.

She bit back a smile since that was one of the possible questions she had been to ask. "Purple." she replied with a pause. "What's yours?" she questioned him then.

"Orange. It reminds me of Halloween," Tyler answered, then figured he should probably clarify. "I like Halloween. It's my favorite holiday. I'm not sure why though..."

"That's mine too." she said with a pause. "I like it because you can be anything you want." she paused once more. "Not that you can't normally be...but I mean like stuff that isn't real." she said. She was babbling. Lovely. But she made herself be quiet then.

"Yea. That's probably why it's my favorite too. I 'm just not very good at coming up with my own ideas," said Tyler, shrugging as though what he said was no big deal at all. Probably because he didn't percieve it as being so. Yea. That was probably it.

She listened to him speak and didn't say anything for a moment. "Not good with coming up with your own ideas?" she questioned him then. Had he never been all.. Hey! I wanna be a ninja this year for Halloween parental unit (or probably mom or dad, or whoever watched over him as a kid..)

"No, I mean...well, I have ideas. I'm just not good at voicing them. I'm not good at saying what I'm thinking. Like...I can't get what's up here," he pointed to his head, "Out of my mouth. It never comes out right. I can just never find the right words..."

She nodded her head a little bit as she listened to him speak. "Gottcha." she replied, not really sure what else to say about that. So she figured next question. "So.. what's your favorite movie?" she questioned him then after a moment.

"I don't really have on in general. I have several...about three or so...that are tied for first. What about you?" Tyler asked, glancing at her for a second or two then glancing ahead to the beach. They were almost there. A couple more steps, and they would be...there, that is.

"Highlander...and Pride and Prejudice." she replied with a pause. "Their tied." She finished. And there was the beach, they were almost there. Very-very close.

"Oh, cool. I really like Highlander as well. It's a very good movie. I also like...um...The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Yea," said Tyler. And then he felt the slightest hint of sand crunching under his shoes. They really REALLY were almost at the beach, now.

"I've never seen that.." she said with a pause. "I heard it was really-really scary though.." she finished.

"It's not really that scary. It makes you think a lot about what you believe, though. Plus, when you have someone there with you that you can cling to, it makes it a lot easier," he said, smiling and remembering the viewing of that movie. He and Zanna had been sitting on either end of the couch at the beginning, at the end, they were holding onto each other, practically for dear life. Funny. Very funny.
