A gush of brisk wind flew past her face making her soft blonde curls settle among the sides of her cheekbones. Her feet were bare and you could barely see the small tan lines on each side. Being back in Milan was so wierd. In a good way almost because since everybody is going to college next year, she wouldn't see anyone and it brought back a lot of good memories.
There was once a bonfire that Rachel and her had thrown a couple years back. Lauren was fifteen maybe and Rachel the same age. Lauren remembered her little sister, she had thrown a fit when she heard she couldn't come to the bonfire. Her short, layered hair bobbed up and down as she dropped to her knees and her face turned bright red. Temple sthrobbing and her little hands were clenched in a fist. Anyway Lauren and Rachel thought they were so cool strutting down to the beach that night with tiny bikini's on that barely covered their boobs. When they arrived they were the only ones there because no one decided to show up. It was Lauren who first cried and Rachel just walked away, getting mad. But when the anger had passed, they both doubled over with laughter and their tears soon dried up as they drank down the bottles of tequila, singing old camp songs over the bonfire. The fire spit and crackled and they had no idea how to keep it going so it ended up dying before it even reached midnight. Those kind of memories Lauren would forever, even if they were stupid and meaningless.
The cool sand stuck between her toes and her hair kept blowing in her face. Lauren was dressed in an old Diane von Furstenberg chocolate bikini. It was one she had bought with Noelle a while back. Over the bikini hung a pink loose, lace babydoll dress with a light brown trim finished with a satin ribbon that tied around the back. she had just bought it yesterday and it felt so good against her hot skin, the sun was blaring down on her. Sometimes she wished she was English or Irish so she could one day experience a sunburn. Where her skin was blotchy and red with little white dpecks of dry skin. And over time they would just peel off. But of course Lauren was the type that tanned.
Lauren settled down on the sand. She had forgotten to bring a towel so she would just have to do without. In the distance she could almost make out a brunette figure. She was petite and gorgeous. Lauren sighed and thought to herself that the girl must be having a fantastic trip with all of her friends. Where were Lauren's friends anyway. This was supposed to be her Birthday trip. So she decided to head over to the small girl and if she wanted to do something. As she got closer Lauren made out a pale green beachtowel.Wait a second she thought. the only person she knew with that same green towel was.. "Oh My God! Rachel!" She almost screeched. She hadn't seen her this whole trip and ages before that. Lauren ran (almost) over to Rachel and thrusted her arms around the girls frame and gave her a big bear hug.
