ABOUT YOU:
Name: Meg
Age: 14
How long have you been role-playing: Just about a year
How you heard about us: I went to a board hosted by Rachel Louise
How active you plan to be: I plan on getting on at least once a day. I always do, but it mainly depends on the general activity of the forum.
ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER:
Full Name: Layne Abigail Hudson
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Race: Caucasian and Italian
Appearance: Your typical Californian beauty. She has deep green iris’s, lined by thick black eyelashes. People say her eyes tell a story; that they hold her past in their color. Most of the guys are turned on by her highly set cheekbones, and delicate dimples of course. She has naturally brunette hair that falls just past her shoulders. It is thick, but still manageable. Highlights are a must, after all, who would want the same hair for more than two seasons? Her skin has a sun kissed glow to it, but is anything but sham. Layne, just like many other inhabitants of Orange County, loves to wear name brands. Her typical daywear consists of layered cotton tanks, as well as a denim jacket, or jeans. Never both though, who needs that much denim? Silk is her lover, along with cashmere, and you can usually catch her sporting polka dots. Skinny jeans accentuate her long and narrow frame, followed by ballet flats of some kind. I promise you that you’ll never see her without her favorite pair of oversized sunglasses from Coach. Why, with their white lining and diamond accents, they’re a girl’s best friend. Or a rich one’s, at least.
Celebrity that they look like: Anne Hathaway
Personality: At first glance, Layne looks anything but innocent. But upon further investigation, you’ll notice that she truly is a good girl. With her genuine sweetheart smile, and contagious giggle, she can lift your mood in little to no time. Don’t get her wrong, she loves to party. She just knows when enough is enough. She grew up in a religious family, and still maintains some of those values. There’s always time for change though, right? Her friends mean more than the world to her, and she gets along with many different groups. Family and music mean a lot to her as well. She is dedicated, hardworking, and full of love. What’s not to want?
History: Layne Abigail Hudson was born on November 22nd, 1989 to Lacie and Peter Hudson. Lacie, a prestigious law firm owner, and Peter, who at the time was investing in gold, were her parents. The two cherished her, considering she was their first born. Layne was to have a little brother at the age of six, but he was so carelessly taken from their family when Lacie had a miscarriage. The family’s religious strength allowed them to make due with the great loss, but it still haunts them occasionally. At the age of eight, Layne was involved in a serious car accident, holding her back from her life long dream; to be a dancer. Through her dedication, Layne recovered and went through strenuous physical therapy, relearning to walk. She then took part in ballet for seven years. Even though she loved being in ballet and performed in many shows, fashion had always been her true passion. It was for this reason that her parents allowed her to move to Orange County when she was offered the position at the latest and greatest fashion industry. Of course, Layne accepted, and now works as an intern. Her parents live in Lower California, in a humble beach cabana. She has been told a promotion is coming her way, but in a land like Orange County, Layne can only hope.
Living conditions: Layne currently lives in the OC, where she attends college and is interning at a fashion industry. Her parents are settling down in lower Cali, in a home for themselves.
Flaws: Because of her trouble-free lifestyle, she tends to let words hurt her. She despises fights, because she knows someone will always wind up getting hurt. It’s not that her self esteem is low, because trust me, she thinks quite highly of herself, she just tends to have a hard time shrugging off the cruel things people say. She was never made fun of as a child, but after going through guys like numbers in a phone book, some get bitter. She tries her hardest, but Layne can’t always be mean. Her physical flaw is from the car accident she was involved in. It is simply a scar along the back of her thigh. She needed a skin graph due to the amount of dead tissue on her back, so they took it from her thigh. She also has a slight limp because her knee was shattered in the accident. Sometimes the pain comes back, preventing her from taking part in the group activities she would otherwise be involved in.
Role-playing Sample:
(My RP sample is Layne’s introduction. So if I am to be accepted, I will be using this introduction.)
"Perfect" beamed Layne, pouting at herself in a floor to ceiling mirror. Lip-gloss really must be the cure to any girls’ problems. At least, it always worked for Layne Hudson. A model’s face she had, and a body any girl would die for as well. But hey, these kinds of things were typical for the wealthy. And in a land such as Orange County, heck, who /didn’t/ live like this? The girl emerged from double French doors, out onto a cobblestone path. The path went out onto a riding trail, used for renting, but Layne never road. Horses were disgusting, after all. A smile to die for shone as Layne approached the car. Her DKNY flip flops clacked against the pavement as she strutted to him. It could be colder than cold and Layne would still be wearing those things. She also wore an ivory tunic accented with a vinyl belt that she had seen in ‘Seventeen’. It wrapped tightly around her thinner-than-thin waistline and she adjusted it so it faced strait. The Gucci skinny jeans she wore also focused on her legs, just as she wanted. Her steps showed confidence, but were not nearly as cocky as they could be. She tended to stop by Starbucks before school, but today she was going to the gym before hand. She always did when she had time.
After completing her daily routine, Layne climbed back into her SUV and took off towards the school. She felt a soft jingle in her Dooney bag and stopped abruptly, pulling out her cell in one swift movement. Immediately her hands began moving.
Once her gossip for the day was accomplished, Layne flipped on the radio and continued driving. Today would go great, Layne was sure of it. After all, everyday was great when you lived like she did. But what it all comes down to is, can you handle the drama?
