Jeremy glanced at Eva, and then up at Lauren. He had this wierd thing where he could feel people staring at him, and those people were usually girls. Memories from forever ago came flooding back to him, but not in the sense that he was getting remorseful or teary. He just glanced at the memories as they passed by.
He watched Lauren apparently pull herself together and smirk--even laugh out loud--at Lindsey. That was something, a quality, that he had always admired in her. She knew who she was, and she wasn't afraid to let everyone know of that. Just because something bugged her didn't mean she'd shy away from it, or change to fit her life. Lauren triumphed over the world--and it was good that at least she thought so.
"Yeah, sure. But let me tell you--it's cotillion. Definitely not the place for grinding or any of that gnarly stuff." It was a coined O.C. word that he had never been able to let go of--gnarly. He grinned, looking down at her again. She was considerably shorter than he, but wasn't everyone? She was gorgeous, too. Why not dance with the gorgeous girl--that was here, and clearly into him? No harm done.

‘ I’ve been better’ She almost said. But at the last moment, she just took a sip of her drink, thinking of a better answer.
“I’ve been busy…” Elizabeth sat down her drink, and took a deep breath. She had a lot of explaining to do she knew that.
“So…I went to New York, to go get Adrienne out of some…interesting stuff. I…”
Then she got a glimpse of Rachel’s red dress. Elizabeth nearly fell out of her chair. Good God, what was wrong with that girl? Could she not taking 4 seconds for her happy little life to not be an attention whore? As she mentally murdered Rachel, Elizabeth got a glimpse of Lauren. It didn’t take much to know that their thinking was on the same level.
The thing with Lauren was, it wasn’t that Elizabeth disliked her, it was that she disliked Elizabeth. There first meeting hadn’t been the nicest…and they never really spoke after that. After that it was just kind of…a Grey area.

Rachel mentally caught a dagger's glare from "Liz", whom Rachel refused to call anything but E.V. It was clear that she was pretty upset about the red dress. God knows why, and God knows Rachel didn't give a shit. Probably because she hadn't thought of it herself--not that red would look good on her. E.V. wouldn't dare comment, though, lest Rachel should get angry. Clearly.
She glanced Lauren's way, seeing a glare from her. That bothered her. Lauren had tried to call her and speak to her, so now, because Rachel chose not to talk, she was resorting to acting as if the whole thing didn't matter? It did, and it was time to put everything behind them. The power duo needed to get back. She glanced at Lauren and gave her a 'c'mon-cooper-we-need-to-talk' gaze. It wasn't rude at all, and perhaps a touch questioning.

Noelle's gaze shifted up to Tyler then. "Well that was exciting." she said then, part sarcasm, partly serious. She's been nervous, something she'd have to admit if anyone asked. Though she was also very amazed that her cousin had gone to Rachel's rescue, and he was obviously playing it low right now, because she couldn't find him, and he'd slipped away from Rachel soon after the dance. Knowing him it was kinda like, if Rachel really wanted to talk to him she'd have to go find him...whatever. She wondered then if she should go say hey to Rachel. Probably, most likely, in a moment...after a little bit more talking with just Tyler maybe?

Layne stood cooly, absorbing the scene placed before her. 'Greeat', she thought, watching Rachel galavant triumphently about the ballroom. She had yet to even meet the girl and already had an idea of what she'd be like; dramatic. Layne giggled as the girls shot glances which were borderline innapproiate for a cotillion to each other. It was fun to see what bitches girls were. Obviously Layne was well aware of this, but never really thought they'd take it this far, seeing how it was a public appearance that could either make or break you. Giving her father a quick peck on the cheek, Layne glided over to a small two person table. She climbed upon the chair and fixed her dress. 'What to do.. what to do.' she said mentally, tapping her index finger along her bottom lip. 'So many options, so little time'. Oh, who was she kidding? If no one asked Layne here in the first place, who would ask her now? No one, that was the answer. Shrugging off the fact, she fished into the Deerskin buckle tote beside her. Only a few moments later, Layne retreived a small tube of lip gloss. Aha! So that's where it went. Applying the highly addictive makeup, Layne smiled. Okay, so things weren't completely bad. Now, to find a dance partner.

Taylor watched Nick approach her, and fought the urge to flip her blonde hair behind her shoulder. She didn't want to appear the same as every other girl here--and that included him girlfriend. No hair flip, no obvious flirting. Well, maybe just a little....
"What's got you so down in the dumps?"
Um. Intelligent question. Was she really supposed to tell him? No. She had to come up with a witty response that would cover her ass, and fast, as much as it pained her. Cotillion want not the time to tell everyone about the illness and the treatment that was leaving her painfully skinny (nearing ninety-five pounds) and fatigued. "What? Me? Nothing. I just... have nobody to dance with, I guess." Shit! That sounded suggestive! Taylor hadn't even meant anything by it... it just kind of came out.
Smooth.

Nick smiled at the girl, he really didn't notice how skinny she was beacuse well guys didn't notice those kind of things. He looked around once again and said "I don't think Olivia showed up to this thing..so I guess I can dance with you." he then smiled his eriee little smile that was more of a smirk "That is if you want to dance with me."

Post by Dream Lee Victory [<3] on Nov 18, 2006 11:43:54 GMT -5
Dream watched everyone as they made there entrance and did there waltz, but what she most enjoyed was the grand finale; Rachel. Rachel looked stunning in every way and Dream knew she wanted to make a statement, it's exactly what she expected from Rachel, to wear a whole different color dress. It didn't bother Dream as much as it seemed to bother the other girls. It suited Rachel a lot. Plus even if everyone could wear any color dress they wanted, Dream would've still picked this white one. She liked it a lot.
Watching the guy, who she never saw in her life before, and Rachel dance she couldn't help but lean onto Danny's arm. Everything seemed perfect for those couples seconds, and she thought everyone seemed happy.
Once the last two finished the waltz everyone smiled and clapped and she watched her mother stand up and clap as well. Amazed that she was even there, Dream couldn't help but have a huge smile on her face. Turning toward Danny she stood on her tippy toes and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you so much for being my date." With that Dream scurried off to Rachel.
Once over there she smiled and gave Rachel a small hug. "You look great Rachel. Perfect as always."

Rachel glanced up to see Dream scurrying toward her. Scurrying was literally the perfect word. She looked around at the other girls in the room, sensing some of them turning their heads toward her in a way they thought subtle. Um, pathetic much?
Again she turned all her attention to Dream, or at least three quarters of it. If nobody else was smart enough--or stupid enough, depending on how you looked at it--to talk to Rachel, she'd sure as hell talk to Dream, who she had recently become good friends with. No hard feeling about the Danny thing, especially because Rachel wasn't into him. "Aw, thank you." She hugged her back, just as lightly. She couldn't show signs of need. "And you look amazing in white! Lucky."

Post by Lauren Jennifer Cooper on Nov 18, 2006 19:19:57 GMT -5
Lauren glanced around the air-tight room with your random sluts, whores, bitches and an occasional sweetheart filling the room. Her attention flicked from person to person. Very interesting. right?. A few couples were dancing here and there, you know some of those people that just fit together.
Lauren's dress seemed to cling to her waist just a little to tight. Whatever, it was Cotillion. Today anything could happen.
E.V was um overrated much? She looked shocked to see Rachel in a red dress. It was Rachel, get over it honey, you're not the queenbee. That was just Rachel for you, no one else could pull that off without looking like she was obsessed with being the center of attention. Wait was that even her name anymore? E.V? Wait no Elizabeth. Or wait E? Liz? She didn't even know anymore, she had been through so many personalities throughout like a month? Wierd.
Lauren turned her attention over to Rachel. She looked fine, which wasn't really what Lauren was feeling. Did that mean that Rachel was over it? That she just didn't care about Lauren anymore. The O.C just wasn't right without the powerful duo ruling the town. Yeah E.V or Liz. Or whatever her name was could try to squeeze herself into a that space clinging to Rachel's hip that Lauren used to fill. Yeah she could try, but it was never going to happen.
Wait? Rachel just glanced over at her and gave her that knowing look. Like c'mon over here you freak. In a nice way of course. Lauren smiled, almost. Maybe they could talk about it and get over this stupid fight. Yeah that would be good. Lauren's other friends had helped fill that hole she had felt when Rachel had not been there. It just didn't work though. Rachel would always be her best friend, and as far as Lauren knew she was Rachel's best friend too. They like attached at hip. The friendship just couldn't like.
Lauren stood up from the slightly uncomfortable chair that she was sitting in. Ok she was going to go up to Rachel and just talk. She smoothed out the end of her dress and walked slowly over to where Rachel was chatting to Dream. Lauren tapped on Rachel's bare shoulder and pressed her lips together and shrugged. She looked shyly at her and just barely look into her eyes. Her eyes started to glisten and she could feel her eyes start to fill up with tears. Oh fuck, no don't cry now. She opened up her arms for a hug. She didn't care if Rachel didn't want to even talk to her Lauren didn't care if Rachel embarrassed her in front of everyone. She didn't care anymore. She missed her best friend.

"Of course I can," Ryder said with playful semi-smugness. He wasn't vain though, and was thereby only messing around. Smiling at her final words, he nodded, swirling her a bit more. He hadn't planned to make it a night of compliments, but those had been the first words he'd said to her that night. All he wanted her to know was that she was beautiful, and he wasn't one to stress it the remained of the night, anyway.
Once the song ended, he looked down at her. "So, want to get a drink or something?" he asked her, lifting his grey-hued gaze from her face long enough to glance around the room. He was trying to locate his brother and cousin. Seeing Colby off in a corner with Elizabeth, he flitted his gaze away, his eyes landing on the form of his other brother as he danced with Amberlynn. Shit. Why hadn't he been informed that his eldest brother had gotten leave to come home? "Clyde's here," he told Spencer, gently jerking his head in the opposite direction so she could see for herself. "Want to go meet him real quick?"

Taylor glanced over at Lauren. It was hard not to notice--clearly the two were making up. And thank God, Taylor definitely didn't want to deal with anymore nights listening to Rachel bitch on the phone about how rude Lauren was. It was high time they both got over and realized everything was messed up if they weren't friends.
And now back to the obviously more interesting subject in front of her--Nick. It was kind of funny, even completely wierd, that he was ignoring his equally gorgeous girlfriend and giving Taylor everything she had wanted. Well, not everything, but close enough. He wanted to dance with her? A million 'what-ifs' flew into her head, but in the end she put her hand in his and let him lead her to the dance floor.
She only had that one life to live.

Nick lead her to the dance floor where he lightly put his hand's on her thin waist. "You know Olivia isn't my girlfriend, were just going to collation togther..' he then did a couple of twirls and said "I'm free as a bird, unlike Channel and he shitty ass boyfriend." He was still pissed off that she was dating his enemy.

Hearing Elizabeth's speech suddenly halt, Colby arched a brow, following her line of vision. Was it the fact that Rachel was in a red dress? It was daring but...whatever. Really nothing to even wonder about, or to even care about. He didn't really know the girl, but if everything that was said about her was true, then her choice of an outfit shouldn't have really been near that surprising. Just as easily returning his gaze to Elizabeth, he prompted, "You what?" being as she hadn't completed her statement.
Lifting his flute to his face, he sipped the drink within, eyes seeking out and finding Ryder dancing with Spencer. They'd halted though, and his brother looked a bit shocked about something. He therefore turned on his chair, gaze coming in contact with...was that Clyde? Wow. Deciding to do introductions later, he returned his attention to Liz, awaiting that reply. A drink would do her good. Her mouth had gotten so dry as her nerves were set into full throttle when all eyes had been on her. “Sure, a drink sounds good.” She replied, though her thoughts of getting the drink had been changed once Ryder had informed her that his older brother, Clyde, was somewhere about the room. She then remembered their conversation, the one where Ryder had been telling her a little about himself, including his parents and siblings. Clyde had been mentioned as the eldest of them all. “Oh, he is? Yes, I would love to meet him.” She said with a quick smile before looking in the direction Ryder had been and spotting someone dancing with Amberlynn. It had to be him, yes.
Removing her hands from around Ryder’s neck, Spencer linked an arm with one of his, smoothing out her dress with her available hand. “Shall we?” she asked, keeping her gaze upon the fellow she figured had been Clyde. Tucking a fallen strand of hair behind her ear and without Ryder’s consent, Spencer began the walk towards his dancing relatives. Of course she was nervous, this was pretty close to meeting Ryder’s father, right? Showing no sign of the nerve she was feeling, Spencer put on a light smile as they approached the others.
