Zanna giggled. "Thanks for saving me from the shrillness of your shrieks," she thanked, waltzing even though she hated the dance. "I hate waltzing. I'm not good at it. And I always feel like I'll screw up or fall," she sighed."
"Yea. It's just over that way," Tyler said, pointing in the direction he was facing. Chuckling a little bit at Layne's comment, he put his arm down. "Would you care to waltz?" he asked, holding a hand out to Layne.

Layne bit the inside of her cheek; again. Why was she always so nervous around guys? Maybe it was because virtually everyone in the O.C was gorgeous.
Hmm. Yeah. That's why.
"Um, I'm really not good. Like, really. Lack of inexperience, I tell you." she chuckled softly, looking up into his eyes. "But if you really want.." she trailed off, not wanting to turn him down. I mean, he did have a girlfriend, didn't he? All she needed was for this girl to come and see them dancing. With Layne's luck, it was sure to happen. "Well, why not." she said finally, accepting his hands. Once the dance began, Layne calmed down a bit, but she was definately tense; how very odd.

Devin smiled. "Anytime sweetheart" Recently he had started calling people sweetheart more and more often. He didn't know why, but it was becoming a habit. "Then lets go!"He said offering his arm to Zanna. Drek had finished whatever he had needed to finish and was now running around searching for his brother. He was wearing orange shorts, and a lime green shirt. On his head was a brown hat that said Vans on it. On his feet where a pair of black vans. "Hey guys!"He shouted as he ran up to them stoping to the waltzing pair of Tyler and Layne.

"You don't have to if you don't want to," Tyler said, waltzing to the imaginary music in his head. Yea. Because he had imaginary music in his head--he was just cool like that. "I mean...I don't exactly want to force you to do anything you don't want to," he added, looking cautiously at her.
"To where?" she asked, referring to what he'd just said. "To where are we headed, I mean?" she clarified. Although Zanna'd questioned where he wanted to go, she still accepted his arm. "Toy store?" she asked, excitedly.

"Yes the toy store!"He said smiling. He started walking hopeing the others all of them E.V included would get the hint and follow them. Drek rolled his eyes and walked after his brother checking to make sure his cell was on loud so he would hear if he got a phone call.

"No no, it's okay." she had finally accepted it. Ha. What a loser she was. He probably thought she was a nutcase, but oh well. It seemed like she couldn't be outgoing without seeming intrusive, and she couldn't be shy without seeming... shy. Letting out an inward sigh, Layne smiled. He was so sweet, but gosh, this couldn't be right. "The thing is, do /you/ want to?" She couldn't be comfortable if he wasn't. God, here she was again, being paranoid. It's not like they were about to make out. As much as Layne hated to admit it to herself, she was falling for him, and all too fast.

"Well...I sort of asked you to, so yea. I do," Tyler said, supressing a fit of giggles. SHe was acting weird. Like...like something bad was going to happen. What was wrong with dancing with someone? It wasn't like they were going to bump and grind or anything...
"Yay! Toy store! Yay! Drek!" Zanna cheered, jumping a little bit. Her ButterCup [the power puff girl] shirt rode up a little bit, but she really didn't care. She had nothing to be ashamed of, so what was the point of caring?

Devin looked over his shoulder "You two lovers coming or not?"He demanded giggling Drek stoped and started laughing. "You shouldn't be talking about lovers and not Devin You look pretty good with Zanna."Drek said knowing it would annoy his brother. Devin raised and eyebrow and looked back at his brother. "Me and her? Never work. She'd beat me to a pulp."He said laughing.

"Well then," she began, smiling. "Let's." With this, she placed a hand semi-gracefully on his shoulder, cupped her other hand with his, and began to dance. She felt things would go smoother if she just let go. Just stopped worrying. It'd be hard, but Layne /was/ an outgoing girl. So why was she acting so shy? Not even she knew. A smile still remained on her features as they danced, and Layne found that she wasn't quite as bad of a dancer as she thought she was. Figuring that dancing in silence wasn't fun, Layne decided to start a conversation. "So, what's your favorite color?" she beamed, looking him in the eye. Layne had found that small stupid questions were always a good way to meet someone, without being too serious. Layne needed to lighten the mood. After all, they were dancing, the mood kind of needed to be light.

"Orange," Tyler answered immediately, without having to think. "What about you?" he asked, returning the stare. He found Layne rather attractive, but it made him feel bad. Noelle was his girlfriend--or close enough to it to be called that. He didn't want to hurt her. Tyler didn't hurt girls. Girls hurt Tyler. Damn it.
"Awh, Dev, I wouldn't beat you to a pulp. I just...don't date younger guys," she said, making the statement up on the spot. Let's just forget that most of the people that she had dated had been younger than her. "You need a fake-lover now, Drek!" Zanna insisted.

"Don't aw me of course you would."He said giggling hyperactively. "To bad, you two would be good together."Drek said seeing just how far he could push the two of them. "I need a fake lover? But who would date me? I'm... me."Devin said frowning. "Hey you! Channel I think come join us!"Devin yelled waving her over, she looked sad. He didn't like that.

Channel slumped and walked over there, her Ipod on low. "What?" she said bitterly. she was in a really bitchy mood and would slap someone if they went to far. Her brown eyes gazed over all the people. { Great..they all know each other already}

"You only want us to get together so I'll come over to your house more and you could stare at me," Zanna retorted. Sure, she knew it wasn't true, but what he was saying wasn't true, either. At least not to her knowledge. "I bet...that person'd date you," she said, randomly pointing. "'Ello, Channel," Zanna said, not sure if she knew the girl or not.
