It wasn't only filled with drunken lunatics and slutty whorebags. No. Some classy chicks could be found inside as well, moving their bodies to the beat and blowing off some steam after a tiring day. Or maybe just out partying with friends. Whatever. This certain male frankly didn't care about their reasons, as long as whomever he put his focus on, paid him some sort of attention. At the current moment though, none of the females present had managed to catch his eye. They were all so...average. Maybe after a few drinks they'd start to look better to him.

Tapping a couple fingers against the bar, he told the bartender what he wanted, voice smooth and deep, holding just a bit of something extra. What people liked to classify as a 'bedroom voice'. Fitting really. As he awaited his scotch on the rocks, he ran an emerald gaze, flecked with gold, over his attire for the evening. Dark wash jeans hung loosely on his hips, and a button down the front white shirt clung to his torso. Not in a tight way though. He didn't need to look gay or show off any of his goods. The sleeves of the shirt were rolled up to his elbows, being as the night was somewhat warm still. To him at least. Wetting slightly drying lips, he ran one hand through his already messy dark brown and amber streaked hair, tousling it just a bit more. Unknowingly of course.

Drink now in hand, he turned on the bar stool, focusing his gaze out towards the dance floor. His eyes ran over the gyrating bodies, as his glass made its way to his lips, allowing Tristen to take a cool sip of the rather refreshing liquid. Now that he had his drink, he could work on finding someone interesting...

And finding one may not be too hard at such a particularily full place. The flashes of light caught glimpses of the juking bodies as they scanned over the crowd. Who could be spotted among the dancing attendees? None other than Cassie. She'd come just minutes ago and had recently taken to dancing in a group as she typically did. No, she wasn't here to find love, she was here to have a good time, and who knows, maybe even meet someone. Cassie's elegance and classy style would make her appear as though she'd never fit in a place like this; but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Cassie very much enjoyed dancing, and found herself rather good at it. At the moment, her hips swung in beat with the music, dipping occasionally as she felt it fitting. She chose to dance in a group until she found someone worth getting with. So far, no one had caught her eye, but hey, the night was young. As the current fast tempo song came to a close, Cassie moved fairly easy through the crowd. She retired to the bar for a drink. Clad in her softest black tweed shorts and a silk georgette blouse complete with bow around the neck, she felt that she looked decent. She wasn't going for slutty, after all. Her thick blonde hair, which was now partially loose from the dancing, had been pulled back into a large black clip, along with a simple black headband. As for her makeup, well, she wore a thin line of eyeliner that enhanced her bright eyes, a coat of mascara to lengthen her lashes, smoky grey shadow on her lids, and that was about it. Yes, she was dressed to impress. Approaching the bar, Cassie quickly ordered a cocktail, wetting her lips as she waited. She took to sitting on a stool, leaning an elbow on the bartop. Giving a quick one-over of her surroundings, her eyes stopped on a young man. Him? Single? No, his girl must've been giving him a show on the dance floor. Ah well, why not give it a chance? He was hot, she needed a dance partner, and they both could use some company. What could go wrong? Drink in hand, Cassie hopped down from the stool and strutted over to him. "What's wrong? You only came here to watch the dancing?" she asked cooly, a smile spreading across her face as she took a quick sip of her drink. Her brows arched as she did so, questioning him silently. Very mischevious, indeed.

The club was being slowly filled up, and the atmosphere was definitely electric. It would be nice to be one of the bodies upon the floor, of course with a woman in front of him. He just couldn't help it. There was just something about the female specie which drew him in, and as much as the world would like to believe, it wasn't all about their bodies. Sometimes a good intellect could attract him just as well, as long as the woman wasn't waiting for marriage or some idiotic thing like that.

Looking away from the swirling liquid in his glass, Tristen looked towards the source of a rather sexy voice. At least he thought so. Lightly lifting his brows, not enough to match hers though, he smirked slightly. "No. But I haven't exactly found anyone of interest to dance with yet," he replied, studying her face briefly before his gaze secretly took in the rest of her appearance. Sipping his drink, he let a rather small moment pass, in which he watched the bodies moving against each other once again. "So I take it you either came over here for conversation, or you want a dance," he said, setting his glass down atop the counter. "I personally would prefer both." Sliding off his stool, he turned towards her, one brow quirked and one hand held out to her. "Shall we?" he asked, obviously inviting her to dance with him. She didn't seem slutty, so he couldn't complain.

Cassie's smile grew as the attractive man spoke, and she pretended that she didn't see him eyeing her up. Taking a slower sip, she allowed time to come up with an answer. So he /was/ single. "Hmmm." she began, patting her lower lip lightly with her index finger. "Why not." grabbing his hand, she decided not to thread their fingers, not wanting to move too quickly. She needed to pace herself, like her cousin. She took a small lead, skipping once to get in front of him. Once they'd moved to an opening by the dance floor, she looked back to him. "Cassie," she stated simply, finally looking into his eyes. She'd remembered on the way over that she hadn't mentioned her name. A song was just beginning, and it's contagious rhythm pumped through her, calling out 'Dance. Dance.' Eventually, her hips overcame her mind, and Cassie found them fluctuating to the tempo. Remembering her hand in his, the girl reluctantly let go, smiling a bit sheepishly as she did so. Silly girl. Rather than hanging onto him, she allowed him room to join in. After all, she wanted to see his moves first. Cassie looked down at her feet; not because of her lack of confidence, she just wanted a place to look rather than his eyes. She'd had no problem seeing that they were captivating, and she didn't especially want to go weak at the knees just by looking at the boy.

Allowing himself to be led unto the dance floor, Tristen looked down the seven or so inches at her. The girl was tall enough, he realized. Model, maybe? No, they were usually way thinner than her, mostly with their curves having disappeared. She still had hers. "Tristen," he said back, being as she'd seen the need to introduce herself. Why not. They'd probably be seeing each other after tonight, so might as well. Maybe. And then that song came on. He hated that song, but everyone else seemed so caught up in it. Anyway. All he needed was the beat, not the words. Moving with her, it was easy to see he was no amateur on the dance floor, even if he hated the song. Seeing as she was looking at her feet, a small smirk tilted the corner of his mouth. "Your shoes more interesting to watch than me?" he asked teasingly, shaking his head a bit. Reaching a hand out, he placed two fingers under her chin, gently lifting her face so she would look at him. Dropping his hand, he placed the both of them on her respective hips, continuing their dance.

"So Cassie. You from Cali?" he asked, making a bit of casual conversation as their bodies moved in rhythm to the beat. He could at least get to know his dancing partner a bit. She was sort of friendly, and he kind of liked that. Hmm.

Feeling the boy -- Tristen's hands on her chin, her head raised, a smile present on it. "We'll see," was all she said, though once her eyes met his Cassie could feel herself bite the inner corner of her lip. Gosh, why did he have to go and get her like that? She'd have to get him back now. Once they'd began to move in synch with each other, she placed her hands on his forearms, rather than his shoulders. This wasn't a slow song, for goodness sake. Obviously he could dance, which was a plus, so all in all Cassie was happy with the way things were going so far. "Yeah," she stated, nodding a tad as she did so, but leaving her lips slightly parted as she did so. "What gave it away?" she asked, avoiding looks from other clubbers and focusing on Tristen. Her body swayed in beat as the song took on a faster pace. Their bodies were close, but not in a sensual way. That'd be for later. "What about you, Mr smooth? You another Cali boy?" Her hands danced their way up his forearms to his elbows, stopping there to hold him as they danced. From afar, the two most definitely appeared into each other.

Tristen merely raised a brow at her reply. Yeah, they'd see alright. "Nothing gave it away actually," he murmured, acutely aware of their closeness. "That was just my sad attempt at getting to hear your voice again," he smirked, looking away from her for a brief spell. "Ha. Mister Smooth? Never been called that one before." If he told her what all he /had/ been called though, she'd probably slap him then turn around and leave, so he'd just leave it at that. "Lived in Orange County all my life," he shrugged. "It's a nice place, and I don't have any plans of leaving just yet. You'd think after twenty years I'd be tired or bored of it, but not quite yet."

Even though the song had changed, he made no move to stop dancing with her. He kept that same secure hold on her hips, dropping his gaze to her face once again, looking right down into her eyes. Like he didn't know the effect they had on the ladies. Pfft. He had his mom to thank for these babies, though he personally thought they looked better on her. That was just his opinion though. "And you still in school?" She didn't look nothing past eighteen, but he could be wrong. However, if she was under eighteen...jailbait.

Cassie's gaze shifted downward at an angle as the boy she'd learned to be named Tristen, charmed her. Yes, charmed. No, she wouldn't fall for him that easily. She could only assume what he'd want to do if she did. "That's suprising." she replied, raising one hand from his arm to run it down the buttons on his shirt. "Really? I've lived in Cali all my life, but just recently moved to the O.C to get away. I'd like to call it my out of school move; My parents like to call it an easy 19th birthday present. Speaking of which, I'm nineteen." She smiled, growing more comfortable looking into his eyes. Sure, they were enchanting, but she couldn't possibly let him win her over /that/ easily. "I actually live with my younger cousin, Layne. Pretty cool chick." she stated, shrugging a bit in his arms. As a new song came on -- this one a tad slower in pace -- Cassie adjusted to the beat quickly, writing off any surrounding people. Couldn't they see she was busy here? Replacing her hand back to his arm, the girl allowed them to move closer together. Hey, slow song rules. Plus, with such a packed club, there was no telling who might break them up if room was short. "What about you? Any brothers or sisters?" She took the time to ask a question, making their conversation seem less one-sided. He'd mentioned wanting a conversation, so here it was.

Curiously watching her fingers trail down the buttons of his shirt, Tristen didn't really think nothing of it. She probably just needed something to do with her hand. It was easy to see that she wouldn't be his usual conquest, and it was sort of annoying. Either way, he never got a girl on the first night as it was. Usually took a bit more. After all, he was only attracted to the classier chicks. "Ahh, I see. Don't think I know her," he murmured, having never truly been with a Layne. Well, in all honesty, he had, but he'd like to forget that time. Her name had actually been Elaine, but some people called her Layne. He however, preferred Lanie. She was the reason he was the way he was right now. Sort of cold-hearted; not believing in love anymore. He kept his gaze averted, mainly to hide the emotions which had briefly appeared in his eyes.

At her question as to whether or not he had any siblings, a smile curved upon his lips, and he returned his gaze to her. "Yeah. Two younger sisters. Tara just turned thirteen and Trischelle's sixteen," he informed her. "They're at that age where I get to kill the guys who try and mess with them," he shrugged nonchalantly, gently biting at his lower lip as he smiled. "Naw, not really. But if they do hurt either them, I'll be hurting them." Protective older brother yes, but he wouldn't be stopping them from dating. Just...not any losers like him. And being who he was, he could definitely spot the ones who were just out for some nookie from a mile away. "They're angels...well, sorta," he chuckled.

Some girl asked if she could cut in during the song, but Tristen shook his head in the negative. He wasn't ready to part with Cassie and dance with someone else just yet. Bold female that one was though. Not that he minded her boldness, for she seemed his type too. Too bad he'd already become somewhat wrapped up in Cassie. "What sort of music you into?" he asked, tilting his head to the side a bit. Sometimes you could tell a bit about a person by their tastes in music, and if they could mesh well with you. Maybe they had similiar tastes in music? He'd see when she answered.

"I wouldn't expect it, she's about as new as I am." Cassie said softly but intensly. She'd found no reason to raise her voice, even though the music was rather loud. She sensed something in the way he said it, almost defensive. "Am I boring you?" she asked, hoping the answer was no. But hey, if he wasn't into her it'd be better to find out now than when they were sharing sheets someday. If someday ever came. "All T's, I see." she remarked with a nod, noting that all three sibilings' names began with the letter T. Cassie had always been the type of person to notice faint relations in patterns and words. "Ahh, so you like to protect them. So I'm guessing you wouldn't approve of meeting a chick like this?" A small smile was visible on her lips, and her brows arched a bit. She assumed the answer would be no, but she didn't mind. Whom she danced with wasn't the same as who she dated. Cassie smiled modestly as the random girl approached the two and asked to cut in. Rather than telling the broad off, she looked to Tristen for an answer. She was asking to dance with him, after all, not her. When he declined her offer, Cassie turned her head back to look at him. So perhaps he wasn't done with her just yet.

Remembering his next question, she diverted all her attention to Tristen. "Well, I'm not too picky when it comes to music. I'll listen to anything that doesn't make me wanna ride a horse or buy some earplugs. A.K.A Country and Screamo." Cassie really wasn't too hard to please when a song came on, but a good rythmic beat didn't hurt either. "What about you? Any preferance?"

"Oh. Well, I definitely don't know her then," Tristen nodded, having not encountered a 'Layne' since three years ago. "No, of course not," he said, shaking his head when she asked if she was boring him. "Why do you think that?" he asked, having not realized he'd been a bit defensive in his tone. Fully brushing away all his thoughts about Elaine, he smiled down at the girl who currently had his focus. "Yeah, all T's. My mom's idea to do that. Her siblings all began with 'C'," he shrugged, not even about to examine why she did it. Smirking slightly, Tristen said, "It's not the methods of meeting someone that I disaprove of. It's what the guys may want to do with them after the initial meeting that would get their ass beat. Not the sleeping with them per se but, if that was all they were after or they lifted a hand at one of my sisters...then I'd have their heads." So he was one of those guys who were only really after sex, but she didn't need to know that. Did he look that stupid to ruin his chances, even if there wasn't a possibility of her sleeping with him? Pfft.

"Aww, but country's cool," he grinned, still moving to the beat. "I have to agree with you on Screamo sucking though. Most the time I don't know what the hell they saying," he stated, shaking his head. "I like alternative rock more though. And the oldies. Who doesn't love the oldies?" he asked rhetorically, small smile on his lips. "And your interests?" he inquired, showing he was interested in learning about her.

"No reason. No reason at all," she stated with a smile, continuing to show interest in Tristen. She listened as he explained the reasoning behind the naming of his family. It was actually pretty cool, and she remembered how she'd once seen a show where a family of 16 all had names beginning with the letter J. Quite odd, really, but cool none the less. "Ahh. That makes sense." Cassie said with a nod, bobbing her head on beat for a second. After doing so, she laughed a little bit. Cassie was the kind of person who'd do dorky little things in public, but still have girls watching her saying 'I wish I could pull that off.' Looking back into his bright eyes, which almost seemed to light up as the spotlight quickly shone on them, she looked around at her surroundings for the first time in quite awhile. As Tristen spoke, however, her trance was broken and her gaze returned to him. "Haha. Country? Some of it's alright, but I think I have a natural grudge against it because of it's bad reputation. Plus they don't play it at bars much." said Cassie, shrugging lightly and flashing another smile. Smiling was her favorite. "Oh, and not to mention how they sound like dying cats! One time, my friend who liked that kind of music, turned it on in my car. I swear I almost swerved into a tree." Laughing a bit more from her old memories, she sighed happily, coming back to the present. "Alternative rock," she restated, impressed that they enjoyed the same music. "My favorite band is Cartel. You may have heard of them. Kinda alternative, but with a strong yet sweet hint to them. What about you?" It was fairly easy to see that she cared for music. "Well, I like dancing, acting, singing, music, and yeah. That's it in a nutshell. And as for you?" As a new, more upbeat song came on, Cassie looked to Tristen with a questioning glance. "Do you wanna dance, you know once we're done with this little chat?" She was glad to have met him, and even more happy to have gotten to know him, but what she wanted now was to /dance./

"Well, the bars you go to," Tristen smirked. "And plus, rock has a worse reputation," he stated, which was the truth. Sex, drugs and rock n' roll -- they all just went together. "Aww, that's mean," he chuckled. It was their accent which made them sound different than the other singing groups, but he wasn't going to say anything about the issue. Otherwise, they'd probably be here all night. Not that he didn't want to spend time with her, of course. Just...in a different way from arguing. "Well, I don't have a favorite, to be honest. I'll just listen to anything that sounds good, and the lyrics make sense to me," he nodded. If he listed off all the bands that were on the top of his list right now, she'd never get a chance to speak. "Football...like my dad. Music as well...not in the singing and dancing sense though." More like listening and messing around on his guitar. Yeah, he took lessons. Big fucking deal. She definitely didn't need to know that. "Drawing...but only when it comes to comics. You wouldn't like that." Yeah, only the guys got a kick out of his work. Women would just call him a dick and slap him.

"I thought we were dancing," Tristen raised his brows, being as he hadn't lost a beat in moving with her. "Or can't you do both at once?" he asked, and of course meaning dancing and talking. "We can just dance if you'd like though," he muttered, shrugging. It was all up to her.

"I meant screamo silly," she replied to his comment about her being mean. "Perhaps they'd be better if I knew what they were saying." She listened as he explained his interests, which were pretty typical. "Drawing, eh? My cousin loves drawing too. I believe she's taking art classes or at least starting them pretty soon." Shrugging, Cassie glanced away before looking back to him. "So do you play an instrument, then?" She asked, realizing he'd said something about liking music but not in a sense. Perhaps she hadn't been clear enough. Cassie laughed when he pointed out that they were dancing. "Yes, I know. It's just kinda hard to dance when trying to pry someone's brain of information." With a small smile, she paused for a moment when the music suddenly stopped and a new, much faster song came on. The beat was harder to pick up on, but it's infectious rythym made it hard to lose once you'd caught onto it. "Then let's dance," she said, beginning to circle with her hips in small fast circles. It was definitely apparent that she could dance, and probably made more sense as to why she didn't exactly want to talk while dancing this fast. When she danced, she needed to focus, and chatting while trying to move this fast could get difficult rather quickly. "Join me?" she added, inviting him to join in. She knew he could dance, but wasn't sure exactly how much he'd want to. Biting on the inside of her lower lip, she looked up to him. Here we go.

"Ahhh, that sounds more like a comment someone would make about Country music. My bad," Tristen grinned, though not shame-facedly at his mistake. Please. She hadn't specified which genre she was dissing, so he had no reason to feel bad. "Art classes? Bleh. I could never take a course, mainly because I sort of have a short attention span when it comes to listening to teachers. Plus, the teachers wouldn't accept what I draw. Not unless they're way open-minded." In truth, it was a miracle he'd even gotten the grades he had in school. He guessed the studying, and listening to his friends discuss the topics, had paid off. That and the fact that certain subjects just came naturally to him. "Yeah...guitar," he replied quietly, shrugging. No one really needed to know what he did with his time since Lanie. The beats he'd come up with were sort of...depressing, and not to mention the lyrics that went with it. He rathered to wallow in his own self-pity, everyone else excluded.

"Mm kay," he nodded, but then dropped his gaze to her quick circling hips. Jeeze, someone had motors implanted in their waist. Smirking at her invitation, he moved in behind her. They weren't slow dancing, he didn't need to be in front. And Lord knew he wasn't no seventy year old man doing the mash potato with his hubby -- basically, they had no reason to face each other. Gently grasping her hips once again, he moved against her, having taking a few seconds to learn her rhythm. "You're a good dancer," he complimented, and that was all he spoke. After all, she only wanted to dance...
