Nick looked at her beautiful brown eyes and said "You should show up in purple just to piss everyone off." He than sighed and said "I haven't really asked anyone yet." All of this thinking was making his brain hurt. Where to step what to say it was wall becoming a blur to him .

Amber smirked. "Come to think of it, that isn't such a bad idea," she smiled. "Purple it is. Ha, I might get kicked out, but whatever. Means I can hit the clubs earlier huhn?" Nodding at him, she continued the dance. "You'll figure that out soon enough. Still got some time...as for me. I'm figuring I'll go stag. Nothing wrong with that in my eyes. Can always find someone to dance with at the place...granted I get to stay."
Maybe she should stop talking. Hell, the guy did say he had a hangover. Needless to say, that'd mean she might be giving him a headache with all her talking. "Um, I'll shut up now," she bit the inside of her lower lip. "Can't be helping your hangover."

Finally, Jimmy looked to Rachel. His eyes met her own and his mind went blank. He was feeling nothing, literally. His legs seemed to go numb. Shit. He knew it was best not to talk any further, afraid he would probably stutter or begin rambling on about some crap that most likely wouldn’t come out clear. Damn Rachel’s mother. Damn her all the way to fucking hell. Suddenly, Jimmy had the urge to break the two apart, and for a second he even let go of her waist and pulled his other hand free from hers. He took a small step backwards. Speechless.
No, what was he doing? He couldn’t back out now. It would only make him look scared. But wasn’t, wasn’t he? Oh yes, Jimmy was scared as hell, more afraid of falling for the girl who stood before him. He knew she moved on. He had too, but that was why the two were never together. It was times like these that made him hate not only himself, but Rachel too. He stepped towards her again, placing his hand within hers once more and wrapping his arm around her waist. He took the amount of steps she had told him to, and offered a small smile down at her.

Nick smiled at Lily and winked at her. He knew when girl digged him and liked to egg them on a bit. He than smiled at Amber and said "Nah..it's okay. My fault really on not supposed to be drinking." He than looked down and said "I did a stint in rehab for a while for a combination of Drinking a Drugs." He couldn't really remember what happened the night he got caught because he was so stoned that it didn't even phase him until his parents packed him up and sent him to a rehab in Colorado.

Lily's eyes shifted over to Jimmy who was dancing with Rachel. Wow agian. He is hottER than Nick. Man, she felt like a total slut wanting to dance with all of these guys. She really really really really wanted to dance. She sat. Anticipating the words "Hey, would you like to dance?". But she thought they wouldn't come. Well, at least she could hope. Secretly, she admired Rachel. She had it ALL. Guys, status, friends, the whole enchalada. God, Lily had many hopes, but most never came true.

Raising her brows upon seeing Nick winking at someone, Amber followed his gaze and noticed Lily. She smirked and glanced back at Nick. "You have a little fan I see," she chuckled, though a mischievous idea was running through her mind. She decided to be good though. "Ahhh, rehab," she murmured, not quite so sure what to say to that.
After a moment of silence, she finally said, "Well, I don't drink. This one time, I was at a party. I got a beer for the first time and after the first one, I was busy dancing on tables and beggining to strip." Chuckling, she shook her head. "I don't really remember it, but I did wake up with my top off and then my friend told me what happened. Needless to say, it's been virgin drinks ever since."

Spencer blushed towards Lauren who had pushed her away. A slight giggle exited her mouth before she turned her head away from her old dance partner and faced Ryder. A she caught up with her own feet, she slowed down her pace and walked towards Ryder. What he was late, Spencer didn’t know, but that was the last thing on her mind. Spencer still had never arranged a dinner meet with her parents and Ryder, but her parents had yet to really ask about it too. Sure they talked about him, and wanted to know more and more, but nothing had been brought up about meeting him. Jimmy had already given her parents a good note on Ryder, so they were happy thus far.
“You okay?” Spencer asked, the smile fading from her face once she stood only inches from the boy. She could tell he was mad, and really was trying to avoid the dance lessons in all. To hell with dancing, she wasn’t good at it and really could give a rat’s ass. “You need to talk?” she added to her question she had asked only seconds before. Stalling. Oh yes.

Nick smiled widely and said "Oh I see...stripping?" He than masked his laugh with a cough "I haven't gotten that far yet..and I hope I won't." He looked around at all the people practicing and than said "This thing is going to be crazy."

After both his family members had left him, Ryder had taken the time to close his eyes and look more calm. Shaking off his anger, he turned, examining Amber and noting she was fine before he switched to perusing Cole. Hmm, why did it seem like that girl was controlling his brother? Maybe it was just his mind, but the Cole he knew didn't allow anyone else to run his life. Either way, it wasn't really any of his business. He had other important matters to attend to, such as his girlfriend.
Just about to go look for Spencer again, Ryder halted, as she was right next to him. He smiled slightly, feeling a hell of a lot better just by having her in his presence. She didn't know what she did to him -- all positively. "Yeah, I'm fine...Now that you're here," he settled both his hands on her hips and brushed his lips in a light peck against her right cheek. "And no, we can talk afterwards if anything...but I really don't want to ruin my mood again right now," he replied to her second question. "So, want to dance?" he inquired, being as that was the reason they were there in the first place. "And you look good by the way."

Removing one of her hands from his, Amber lightly, playfully punched Nick on his upper arm before replacing her hand in his and chuckling. "Yes, stripping. I wasn't in my right mind. Though I guess I have a second career if I ever decide to stop doing Art," she grinned, making light of the situation. It was easy to see she wasn't ever serious. Why be? It only served in making a person uptight and snobby, neither of which she was. "Hmm, well, if you ever decide to strip, make sure I'm present. Or at least let someone video tape it. I want a good laugh too."
Turning with him, she sighed. When was the real music going to start? "I'd say more dumb than crazy. Why the hell do we need a coming out ball? Most people just probably gonna end up making out in dark places...none of this dancing is gonna matter," she shrugged.

Post by Joey Fair on Sept 24, 2006 21:09:07 GMT -5
Joey Fair had just arrived back in O.C a week ago and his mother had already suggested he go to one of those usual O.C collitons dance lessons. What a drag. She said it would be a place for him to get to know people. Like who? The snobby bitches who thought everything revolved around them? Oh goodies. But not trying to be kicked out and having nothing better to do he decided to goto this prissy thing, but he was a tad bit late.
Staring up at the tall building he took one last drag of his cigarette then dropped it to the ground and then squished it with his black loafers. Quite comfortable shoes if he'd say so himself. Pulling open the glass doors in front of him he walked inside the enormous and elegant building. Reading the paper in his hand he looked for the room in which the dance lessons were held in.
Not even 5 minutes later he came across the room and silently opened the door. As Joey peered inside he saw that he was not just a tad bit late, but extremely late. Walking more into the room and letting the door shut behind him, he leaned up against the wall and surveyed the scenery in front of him; and what a beautiful scenery it was. Of course he was talking about the women in the room. They were all quite beautiful, but most of them all seemed t have a partner. Even two girls were dancing with each other. How, um, cute?
What was he thinking? These girls were probably to seemingly young for him. He shouldn't even think about how hot they were. All he had to do was talk to some people and be a gentlemen of a dance partner. Nothing serious.
Joey's eyes the fell across the men. They were all dressed quite nicely, something Joey wasn't in the mood for that morning, but he did follow the rules of no jeans. He instead wore black slacks, but a white wife beater. Cute, but not something for this.
Running is long fingers through his stringy hair he watched the girls and thought if he should ask one to dance or not. It was a hard decision since he knew none of the people in the room and highly doubted that the girls would want to dance with him and not one of the find gentlemen who had arrived before he. What to do, what to do?

The light kiss Ryder had placed upon her cheeks seemed to work wonders. Although she wasn’t in an extremely horrible mood, she did feel a bit better. Oblivious as it was, Ryder did too, or so that’s what he said. Spencer smiled up at him upon hearing his comment about him ‘feeling better now that she was here.’ It was such a cliché, but Ryder made it sweet to hear all the while. Mmm, he was perfect. But wasn’t that what everyone thought at the beginning of a relationship?
“Alright, I don’t want to push you into anything you’re not up for doing, though.” She replied after being informed that the two would talk later, if he pleased. Spencer’s gaze then dropped over him fully, examining his attire. Yeah, she was the only one stupid enough to show up in some, what she would call, dress wear. The cotillion wasn’t today, but by glancing around at what the others wore, Spencer would’ve guess it was. And what, Ryder was saying she looked nice? Ah well, sweet on his part. “Dancing with you would serve me good.” She stated, taking his hand into her own, smiling up at him one more before pulling him gently towards the floor. “And thank you, you look very handsome and smell nice too.” She remarked as she placed the two of them in a well spaced area about the ‘dance floor’.

Shaking his head in the negative, Ryder held both her palms in his and brought them to his lips, placing a soft kiss on her fingers. "Nope. We're a couple, and I find it best to be truthful with you...even on this, however trivial it might seem to some." Sighing softly, he then smiled. "Yeah, it'd do me a hell of a lot of good too," he agreed, following her unto the dance floor and glancing at the others once again as one of his hands planted upon her waist. Placing his other hand where it was supposed to be, he began waltzing with her, all the while thinking this was one fucked up dance. Shit. He rarely danced as it was...maybe when he got drunk, which was often. Surprisingly enough, he'd managed to not indulge in many alocholic drinks since meeting Spencer. If he hadn't, he'd be at a bar right about now while wallowing in his problems.
"Meh, I don't like what I'm wearing. I don't know what they'll say, and I frankly don't give a crap, but I'm showing up in jeans to the Cotillion. Sorry babe, but there's no way I'll be comfortable in a tux," he admitted, moving with her. He tilted his lips to the side, falling into silence for a bit before blurting out quietly, "I got pulled over by the cops on my way over here." Not elaborating, he looked down at her, studying her face. It was her reaction he was guaging for, and seeing if she thought he might be guilty of something, would make him know if he should stay with this girl or not. As long as she didn't judge before hearing.
